Moov Technologies

Moov Technologies is a technology startup based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, researching and developing connected products that improve morning and sleep routines, reduce procrastination, and help users build more consistent daily habits. I joined Moov Technologies as a Full Stack Engineer through a four month Mitacs internship, contributing to the product across device firmware, native iOS and Android applications, and AWS cloud infrastructure. Over the course of the internship, I delivered the product’s first end to end over the air update, helped audit and rebuild the backend with improved security and 194 tests, and reduced monthly AWS costs by over 55%. I also rebuilt the iOS application and submitted it to the App Store, brought the Android application to feature parity with iOS, and prepared its first Google Play release. To improve coordination across four codebases, I introduced spec driven development through a shared repository of technical contracts, feature specifications, and architectural decision records, establishing a consistent foundation for development across the platform.
